Art Tutoring

Main media for classes, besides computer art, are pencil, acrylic and watercolor paint. Usual topics covered for pencil / charcoal drawing include:

• Developing accuracy in proportions and measurement
• Use of line, and variety of line
• Creating volume through shading
• Linear perspective
• Fundamentals of composition

Topics for painting include those listed above, as well as:

• Foundations of color theory
• Mixing color
• Wet media techniques
• Relationship of value to color

If you are interested in one-to-one lessons in these media, we can develop a program of study that will accomodate your needs and specific goals. For those not residing in the Chicagoland area, we are investigating the possibility of an Internet-based correspondence course. As this materializes, information will be posted here.
